Job Description:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Geriatrician to join the Geriatrics department of a prestigious medical institution in Dubai. The ideal candidate, American Board-Certified and Western-trained, will focus on delivering comprehensive care tailored to elderly patients. This position requires a compassionate and patient-centered professional dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of older adults through advanced clinical expertise and effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in elderly patients.
- Provide specialized care tailored to the unique physical, mental, and social needs of geriatric patients.
- Develop personalized treatment plans, focusing on maintaining and improving quality of life.
- Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers, to deliver comprehensive geriatric care.
- Offer guidance on preventative care, lifestyle modifications, and medication management for the elderly.
- Support families and caregivers by providing education, resources, and compassionate advice.
- Stay updated on advancements in geriatric medicine to ensure best practices and evidence-based care.
- Comply with UAE medical regulations and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and ethical practice.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Board certification in Geriatrics (American Board Certification is mandatory).
- Must be Western-trained with experience in leading healthcare systems.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a consultant geriatrician in a leading healthcare environment.
- Expertise in managing age-related conditions, frailty, and complex comorbidities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered and empathetic approach.
- Eligibility for DHA/DOH/MOH licensing to practice in the UAE.
