tertiary facilities. The government, including the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Military
Hospitals has previously been the main provider of healthcare services, but private investment and provision are increasing. This guide provides information about hospitals that Allocation Assist works with. (This is not a complete list of hospitals in Riyadh).
King Fahad Medical City (KMFC), constructed between 1984 and 1995, is considered one of the largest and most advanced medical complexes in the Middle East. Accredited by the JCI, the complex consists of 4 hospitals with a total capacity of 1200 beds: The Main Hospital (460 beds), The Women’s Specialized Hospital, The Children’s Specialized Hospital and The Rehabilitation Hospital. The complex is made up of one institute, 4 specialised centres, laboratories & Primary Care Clinics.
The Main Hospital (460 beds) – multispeciality hospital with all major medical and surgical specialties, critical care, and dental services. The Children’s Specialized Hospital (246 beds) – opened in 2003, provides various specialised clinical programs and advanced methods of intensive medical care for children.
The Women’s Specialized Hospital (236 beds capacity) – opened in 2003, provides a full range of obstetric and gynaecological care. Centre of excellence for managing high-risk pregnancies and complications of early stages of pregnancy, infertility treatment, and day-case surgeries.
The Rehabilitation Hospital (150 beds) – the only Ministry of Health (MOH) Hospital that provides acute holistic rehabilitation services to referred patients through an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program. Medical, nursing, clinical and administrative staff work together to assist patients in achieving their maximum potential according to their outlined treatment plan.
King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) is a 250-bed, JCI-accredited, tertiary care ophthalmic facility, founded in 1983, operated by the Ministry of Health (MOH). This Eye Hospital aims to improve eye care throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and beyond by providing tertiary eye care, educating health care professionals and the public and conducting research.
KKESH is recognized for excellence in delivering ophthalmic patient care. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAAUH) opened in 2014 as Riyadh’s primary government-sector teaching hospital. It is conveniently located near King Khaled International Airport, on the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) campus.
The hospital has 406 beds and holds accreditations from JCIA and CBHAI. KAAUH offers centers of excellence in women’s health, pediatric and adolescent health, and a specialized Child Development Center focused on autism and attention disorders.

King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) in Riyadh (formerly the King Fahad National Guard Hospital) is the largest healthcare facility of MNGHA with a total bed capacity of 1,973.
Inaugurated in 1982, King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) is a leading healthcare facility in Saudi Arabia. It serves Ministry of National Guard personnel and their families, offering care from primary healthcare to advanced tertiary services. KAMC also provides specialized care to non-National Guard patients through its medical eligibility system.
KAMC houses the King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center, Organ Transplant Center, and Liver Center, all equipped with cutting-edge technology. The Cardiac Center made history by performing the region’s first Berlin LVAD mechanical heart implantation.
King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital (KASCH), opened in 2015, is the third-largest healthcare facility in the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA). With a bed capacity of 600, it also features a 60-bed ER and 70-day care and infusion beds. As the first specialized children’s hospital in Saudi Arabia, KASCH spans 192,000m² across 10 levels.

The Women’s Health Specialist Hospital (WHH) is the newest facility of MNGHA in Riyadh, with a bed capacity of 284. This hospital offers a wide range of medical services, including obstetrics, caesarean sections, and gynaecological surgeries. Additionally, it provides intermediate and intensive care units for newborns.
Moreover, WHH features various specialized clinics, such as fertility clinics, maternal and foetal health, breast health, and obstetrics and gynaecology. Prince Sultan Military Medical City (PSMMC), formerly known as Riyadh Military Hospital. This is located in Riyadh City. PSMMC is part of the Medical Services Department (MSD) of the Ministry of Defense (MOD). It is a multispecialty medical complex with 1,192 Beds including A&E, Delivery, NICU & Theater + 48 Dialysis Chairs. The Medical City includes the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center.
